Research Gallery 9/13

Hendrickje Schimmel has made all the work that I saw in today's gallery. Firstly before any research as background, I thought her artwork as an ongoing process. In which, it kind of shows an action or a movement while I am looking at it. Nevertheless, it turns out reasonable after I finish watching the video of Hendrickje talking about her inspirations from laundry industry, it matches how I feel from the art; moving and flooding.
The wall, the ground and the artworks are balance to each other. It creates such an unexpected impact that really brings out the idea of Hendrickje, of how she really wants to express throughout her artworks. Although the exhibition is temporary, it still keeps its remaining "acid", like an unwashed spot that could not be washed no matter how many different exhibitions has tried to recovered. She has this honorable chance to exhibit her artworks due to her talents and hard work.
The idea of Hendrickje's exhibition has utilized laundry industry as a core element to curates the entire set. At the backside, some of the art pieces there are strings that tide up the fabrics which creates tension and image of hanging clothes after doing laundry. The rest are either hanging or suspend by the frame.
The artworks are being shown in this way is probably because Hendrickje, the artist, wanted to show the movement of removing acid and waste to spark the idea of how fabric waste is unfriendly toward the society. Moreover, to enlarge the unnecessarily of fabric being produce by exceeded materials.
While having an analysis of the exhibition, the movement that Hendrickje creates has kept caught my attention. I reminds me of those ongoing process and repetitions of an object. As a result, I will probably explored more on spiritual, non existent and natural repetitions.
The artworks has communicate several different ideas toward the audience. However, the main concept comes from the laundry industry, then expend more into different situations such as environmental protection and wearability of clothes. In which, Hendrickje has uses a lot of repetitions and details to talk about the chaos.
I love the viewing of the work. By the details that the artist has provide, the communication exploratory and the interactivity of the piece.
That I should also focus on how narrative an outcome could be, instead of a steady end that is lifeless.
